Education level: Upper secondary, (16 - 19)
Description:
ICT is used in close connection with a special island model of studies where this school is linked with the upper secondary school on the neighbouring island Frøya. ICT is used to link each student with the home school during this period, and to make possible cooperation between teachers and local instructors/supervisors in the enterprises. ICT is also used to create electronic logs to document the pupils' work with different goals in the curriculum. The school subscribes to the digital learning system Classfronter. This is a netbased administration system for learning and teaching where one can access virtual rooms for learning. In these rooms there are tools for communication and cooperation and functionality for sharing information, organising texts and links and for evaluation purposes. All teachers and a large part of the student population have their own portable PC with an internet connection through cell phones. ICT is also used to provide more individualised programs in special education.
