The vocational school in Marl had in the program for the years 2002 – 2003 announced an expansion of the Media subject into new tracks. This has been completed and has continued in 2004. Specially the ICT supported connection with the vocational education and training and the parallel acquisition of the general competence for further and higher education with the support of Media equipment is for the ELFE-project of great interest, as well as regional ICT projects (among other ECDL) and the work with the new media centre.

In the web pages of the Pestalozzi primary school in Marl the project “Mediapoints” is described in length. This project is an integrated part of the ordinary school day and influences the educational work and life of the school. Learning with support of new technologies influences all who are part of the school and is in a process of permanent development.

The Max-Planck-Gymnasium in Duisburg is special in the meaning that the school is participating in a number of projects which are in progress. Among these projects is an internationalisation project where Internet and e-mail are used as means of communication. In the area of ICT is the school expanding its projects, of special interest are the projects to offer as optional ICT/art and ICT/music as well as participation in the self-learning project SelGo which in 2004 received the Comenius Prize as a project which hints at the future in e-learning in respect of pedagogical use and content.
