In addition, all pupils in 10th class have tablet pc's. Like many Danish Folkeskoler all 3rd class pupils have pc's starting 2 years ago, so thier 5th class has had pc's for 3 years now.

The school is very new - it was established in August 2005 and moved into a brand new building in August 2007 that was build based on specific pedagogical intentions with a high priority given to the use of multimedia and new technology. Many of the teachers have long pedagogical experience from other schools but applied to go to Ørestad Gymnasium when it opened in order to try out their vision in modern surroundings.

Description:
The school is situated in the provinsial town Næstved about 100 km Southwest of Copenhagen. The school participates in a national developing project for the use of ICT in the Folkeskole, the ITMF-project. It's an umbrella giving funds for many different projects - all of them must involve cooperation between at least 2 schools. In part of Kalbyrisskolen they teach pupils with special needs. Here they try out how you can use ICT to differentiate the teaching so you can focus more on the learning of each individual pupil. The school uses a blend of netbased learning and traditional lessons at the school. The result seems to be very succesfull: pupils with reading abilities feel more secure about reading so they gain selfconfidence, joy of learning and become actual better readers. Description:
Middelfart is a small provincial town on the Westcoast of Funen. The school, which is a general upper secondary school, have 76 computer for use by its 430 students. In addition they have computers for the staff. The school has like many other general upper secondary schools participated in the the ministerial project the Virtual Gymnasium. Here the school try to blend traditional lessons with lessons where the students work outside of the classroom with the use of ICT eg during project periods. The idea is to train new competences and thereby improve also the traditional subject learning. The school uses Class Fronter as electronic communication platform, where all informationto students and staff is given. Many teachers let the students deliver their papers electronic on Fronter and most students uses a computer during the final written exams. All the school is cabled with internetaccess. The school expects that all students have acces to the Internet at home. All teachers have participated in the training for the Pedagogical ICT driver Licence (Gymnasie-IT). All teachers have a computer at home paid by the county who owns the school. The school is in the proces of debating it's strategy of the pedagogical use of ICT based on a policy suggestion from a working group in the county. At the moment it's up to the individual teacher to use ICT in his/hers teaching - the training, support and tecnical facilities are available.

The general upper secondary school is located in a supurb to Denmarks second largest town Aarhus. It has 625 students and about 70 teachers. The school has a long tradition of using ICT. Since 1995 they have used a First Class conference system which now have more than 500 electronic conferencerooms. The school have 130 computers for the students' use. Like Middelfart Gymnasium the whole school is cabled with internetaccess. The school expects that all students have acces to the Internet at home. All teachers have participated in the training for a Pedagogical ICT driver Licence. All teachers have a computer at home paid by the county who owns the school. The school has a leadership who wants to make use of ICT part of the schools profile and for many years a group of pilot teachers have tried out their visions for the use of ICT and have inspired their collegues to join in. Now the school participates in the Virtual Gymnasium project (see Middelfart Gymnasium) where all classes have some of their lessons taught virtual during project periods.
